According to information from Pitchfork, Jeymes Samuel describes the song as a musical experience of "nine minutes and 32 seconds of absolute biblical and moving bliss." He previously collaborated with JAY-Z as director on "The Harder They Fall." The duo also worked with other artists on the track "Hallelujah Heaven", alongside Lil Wayne, Buju Banton and Shabba Ranks.
