IWC unveils its burgundy Portugieser chronograph in the spirit of the Lunar New Year

IWC dévoile son chronographe Portugieser bordeaux dans l'esprit du Nouvel An lunaire - HYTRAPE

To celebrate the Year of the Dragon, IWC has unveiled a Portugieser chronograph specially dedicated to this mythical creature of the zodiac. This limited edition, a true ode to luck and longevity, offers a harmonious combination of elegant design and cultural symbolism.

The watch face, housed in a 41mm stainless steel case, features a vibrant burgundy hue, chosen to symbolize the prosperity of the cultural festival. Gold-plated hands, indexes and numerals add a touch of sparkle and charm, instantly illuminating the dial. However, the show doesn't end there.

Flipping the watch over, detail lovers will marvel at an intricately hand-engraved dragon motif, clearly visible through the open case back. The dragon is accompanied by a gold-plated rotor, powering the 69355 movement – an automatic manufacture caliber with a frequency of 28,800 vibrations/hour and an impressive 46-hour power reserve.

The Portugieser Chronograph Year of the Dragon comes with two distinct bracelets to suit different styles. A black calfskin strap, perfect for everyday use, and a burgundy textured rubber strap that offers a tone-on-tone look, adding a modern touch to the watch's classic aesthetic.

Produced in just 1,000 pieces, this exclusive watch is available at a price of US$8,450. Enthusiasts can now make a request via the official IWC website to acquire this precious timepiece which combines exceptional watchmaking know-how and cultural celebration.
