Garmash: A creative journey in mixed media

Garmash-Un-voyage-créatif-dans-le-mixed-media HYTRAPE

It all started in 2016 when Garmash put his hands on a camera for the first time. But that was just the appetizer. In 2021, our budding artist decided to move up a gear. Exit simple photography, make way for collage! And not just any collage, my friends. We are talking here about a clever mix of media that would make the greatest alchemists green with envy.

Garmash is a bit like the MacGyver of contemporary art. He juggles with techniques he has gleaned over the years, some allowing him to magically transfer images from one surface to another, others creating textures so personal you'd swear they have a soul.

His creative process? A true initiatory journey. It starts in Photoshop, where he assembles his own photos like a crazy puzzle. Portraits, landscapes, everything goes! But be careful, this is just the tip of the iceberg. The real magic happens next, when he starts playing with textures. This is where it gets interesting, folks.

Garmash is a true paper chameleon.

He juggles between classic printing paper and glossy photo paper like a pro. Besides, between us, it seems that shiny paper is winning the game. We understand, shiny is sexy!

But make no mistake, behind this apparent casualness hides a true perfectionist. For Garmash, composition is sacred. His goal ? Create works that guide the viewer's gaze without losing it. He is a tightrope walker who juggles with silhouettes, shapes and materials to create pieces that are not only full of ideas, but also pleasant to look at. A feast for the eyes, indeed!

And you know what ? He has a philosophy that I like. For him, art does not always need to have deep meaning. Sometimes we just create because it's cool. And honestly, in a world where everything has to have meaning, it's good to hear that!

But make no mistake, Garmash has ambition. For 2024, he has set a goal: to collaborate with the fashion and music industry, to work with other creatives and filmmakers. And between us, I'm willing to bet that sparks will fly!

So, what do you think of all this? Personally, I find it refreshing. In an often elitist and pretentious artistic world, Garmash brings a breath of fresh air. His relaxed approach, his mix of genres, his desire to create sometimes just for pleasure, is like a snub to the artistic establishment. And you know what ? It feels good !

Of course, some purists might argue that art must always have deep meaning, that creation without a message is empty. But isn't that a somewhat narrow view? Isn't art above all an expression of oneself, whether it carries a message or simply an emotion?

Ultimately, what comes out of Garmash's journey is a refreshing creative freedom. An approach that combines technique and spontaneity, digital and physical, sense and pleasure. Perhaps this is ultimately the art of the 21st century. An art without borders, without rigid rules, which adapts to new technologies while keeping one foot in the tangible.

So, are you ready to dive into the world of Garmash? Personally, I can't wait to see what 2024 has in store for us. Who knows, maybe we'll soon see his works on the Fashion Week runways or in the background of a pop star's music video? One thing is sure, it promises to be cool!
