London-based designer and artist, Mimi Shodeinde , recently unveiled her latest creation from her studio Minimat Designs : the Borris collection. Comprised of ten unique pieces, this furniture series offers an innovative perspective on movement, challenging conventional perceptions.

At the heart of the collection is the Borris Chair, a captivating piece that embodies the essence of frozen movement. With a box-shaped structure, skillfully mixing rectangular and trapezoidal parts, the chair offers a fascinating play between softness and hardness. The seat, back and armrests are covered in a soft suede-like material, harmoniously held in place by aluminum panels.

The Borris dining table, another centerpiece of the collection, stands out for its modularity and innovative design. Made up of three irregularly shaped pieces, each functions independently as a table, but can also be put together to form a long dining table. Its aluminum structure contrasts with the tinted glass and Nero Marquina marble tops, creating a contemporary and functional aesthetic.

Mimi Shodeinde explains that the Borris collection seeks to explore the beauty of pause, highlighting the solid, ridged structures that emerge when movement reaches its climax. Each piece in the collection embodies this contemporary vision and offers a unique visual and tactile experience.

The Borris Collection by Mimi Shodeinde is currently available to order, with prices on request via the official Minimat Designs website. Immerse yourself in the world of innovative design and explore the frontiers of movement with this captivating series.
