The return of Travis Scott is clearer with the imminent release of his new album “Utopia”. According to Sylvia Rhone, CEO of the Epic Records label, the project would be released next June. This announcement was made during an interview where she was asked about what's coming to Epic Records.
This new opus is eagerly awaited by Travis Scott fans. Indeed, it was almost five years ago to the day that the artist released his last successful album “Astroworld”. Since then, his fans have been impatient and the rapper was able to raise the tension with an advertising campaign last April. Billboards in California, during Coachella, announced the following: "Are you looking for Utopia? Wrong direction!". This campaign referred to the festival's decision to deprogram it.
It should be noted, however, that the release of "Utopia" could be subject to certain requirements. Travis Scott has stated that the album will only be released after the members of the Cactus Jack collective, of which he is a part, have published their respective projects. They are Sheck Wes, Don Toliver, Chase B and SoFaygo. It is therefore possible that the release date will be pushed back if one of these artists falls behind schedule.
Recent clues suggest the album could contain 24 tracks, according to recording engineer Mike Dean. Additionally, rumors are circulating of a possible release date of June 23, 2023, although this has not been officially confirmed. Travis Scott was also seen with a briefcase labeled "Utopia", attached to his wrist by a chain and handcuff, suggesting he was traveling with his album.
If everything goes as planned, fans will be able to obtain Travis Scott's new opus in a few months. In the meantime, all we have to do is cross our fingers and wait a little longer to find out what the rapper has in store for us in “Utopia”.
