Aimé Leon Dore, the New York brand founded by Teddy Santis, recently announced its first ever collaboration with New Balance for the 860v2. The shoe, originally launched in 2012 as a versatile running sneaker and winning an Editor's Choice award from Runner's World, has seen a resurgence in popularity in recent years as a partner to other New Balance models such as the 2002R and the 1906R. Today, Aimé Leon Dore tackles the 860v2 for the first time, promising to propel it into the spotlight.
Teddy Santis revealed three colorways of the upcoming collaborative shoe on Instagram, discreetly integrating them among many other photos. The sneakers, presented in green, red and blue, feature silver and gold metallic details as well as a logo modification on the tongue. The green and blue models sit on a white mesh base, while the red version opts for cream mesh for added contrast.
The 860v2, relaunched in 2019, has already been revisited by brands such as END., DIME and thisisneverthat, but this is the first collaboration with an American brand. It's also a first for Aimé Leon Dore, whose previous collaborations highlighted older running models like the 991, basketball shoes like the 550 or hiking boots like the Rainier.
All three colorways of the 860v2 feature a breathable mesh upper, N-ergy cushioning and ABZORB sole technology for optimal comfort. The brand has officially unveiled the collaboration and a raffle is now open to try to acquire one of these pairs.
As of now, no information on the release date or price of this collaboration is available, but it is very likely that news will be announced soon. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.
