Disney and Pixar studios have finally lifted the veil on the official release date of “Toy Story 5”, sparking immense joy among fans. Confirmed last summer by the creative director of Pixar, the return of Woody and Buzz Lightyear for this fifth opus was highly anticipated.
Scheduled for 2026, almost seven years after “Toy Story 4” released in 2019, this new episode promises new captivating adventures. Although plot details are still under wraps, Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will reprise their iconic roles as Woody and Buzz Lightyear, respectively.
The year 2026 promises to be busy for Disney, which also announced the release of the next “Star Wars” film from Lucasfilm, directed by Jon Favreau. “The Mandalorian & Grogu” will precede “Toy Story 5” and hit theaters on May 22, 2026, followed by “Moana” starring Dwayne Johnson on July 10, 2026 and “Tron: Ares” on October 10, 2025.
Before "Toy Story 5" arrives, Pixar plans to release two highly anticipated sequels. “Inside Out 2” will arrive this summer, bringing back Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith and Lewis Black to lend their voices to the emotions Joy, Sadness and Anger. The cast also welcomes Tony Hale, Liza Lapira, Maya Hawke, Ayo Edebiri, Adèle Exarchopoulos and Paul Walter Hauser in emotional new roles.
