Helmut Lang, the famous fashion brand, recently announced the arrival of Peter Do as head of the Women's and Men's lines. Beginning May 15, Do will oversee creative from the New York-based studio.
Peter Do, a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, won the prestigious LVMH Graduate Prize in 2014 and was nominated for the latest CFDA Fashion Awards. Before joining Helmut Lang, he worked at Céline and Derek Lam, and in 2018 he founded his own brand, which he will continue to lead.
In a statement, Peter Do said: "No one embodied radical thought more than Helmut Lang. It is a profound honor for me to usher in the next chapter of Helmut Lang's legacy. I look forward to to build on the foundations of this house and create new, energetic pieces that inspire people to question their understanding of expressing their individuality.”
Born in Vietnam and raised in the United States, Peter Do will present his first collection for Helmut Lang during New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2024 this September. This collaboration promises to bring a breath of freshness and creativity to the iconic brand.
