The collaboration between Ye and adidas has seen many ups and downs over its decade of existence. However, a constant element of this relationship has been the presence of intriguing prototypes that never made it to market. These samples include a signature shoe for Derrick Rose, camouflage printed GORE-TEX boots, a high-top version of the YEEZY BOOST 700, the YEEZY 450 Slide and more.
As this collaboration nears its end, a new sample has surfaced: the YEEZY 150 Samba. This sneaker appears to be YEEZY's interpretation of adidas Originals' famous Samba. Although this model was first spotted back in 2019, new images provided by @chaseesghosts offer a detailed look at the shoe.
The YEEZY 150 Samba, dressed in Black and Gum, features a full suede upper and a sturdier construction than the original soccer silhouette it's based on. It combines the aesthetic of a Samba with that of the popular Busenitz Pro from adidas Skateboarding. The usual Samba branding on the midfoot is replaced by “Wyoming” in a thinner, sharper font. The essence of this shoe seems to align with that of the YEEZY Powerphase: a new take on an adidas classic, with a collaborative twist.
The adidas YEEZY 150 Samba is unlikely to go on sale, but Yeezy fans can expect more releases in the coming weeks.
