A hip-hop classic enters the world of haute couture with the collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Timberland for a new version of the famous 6-inch boot. This collaboration, revealed on the @skateboard Instagram account, created to showcase Pharrell's work at Louis Vuitton and his inspirations, is not so much a departure from the classic style as an homage to it.
The pair features several distinctive details, including a laser-engraved Louis Vuitton logo on the front of the tongue, the house's iconic monogram on the back of the tongue and, very discreetly, on the side heel, as well as co-branded labels. The collaboration will likely be revealed in full during Louis Vuitton's Fall/Winter 2024 show at Paris Fashion Week, scheduled for 8 p.m. CET on January 16.
This collaboration fits perfectly with the bold and urban ethos that Pharrell has established since his arrival at Louis Vuitton. Its Spring/Summer 2024 show featured pieces as at home on the streets of New York as they did on the runways of Paris, ranging from its pixelated, colorful reinterpretation of the house's Damier pattern to its Speedy bags adorned with oversized logos, in through premium baseball jackets and extra-thick Trainer Maxi sneakers. Louis Vuitton also introduced a range of Timberland-inspired silhouettes, from Pharrell's Checker Ankle Boot to the Ranger Ankle Boot.
