What is the Opium label?
Opium, sometimes written 00pium, is an American label and rap collective based in Atlanta. Wikipedia and The Queen’s Journal date it to 2019. Complex, on June 30, 2026, writes “around 2019 or 2020” and names the producer OpiumBaby as a co-founder alongside Playboi Carti.
In an interview published by XXL on April 12, 2022, Playboi Carti names his artists (Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely and the two members of HXG), says he started by signing producers and mentions a clothing line. Complex now describes Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely and HXG as the core of the label.

Several outlets describe a dark aesthetic. Complex (June 30, 2026) speaks of a “goth” and industrial world, with black clothing including Rick Owens pieces. Grazia Malaysia (July 7, 2026) cites black, leather, heavy boots, bullet belts and silver jewelry, and links brands such as Rick Owens, Chrome Hearts, Maison Margiela and Raf Simons to Playboi Carti. SNKRDUNK (December 2024) adds cross-shaped jewelry and futuristic eyewear, and notes that the style has no official definition. For the link between rap and fashion, read Rap & Fashion: a mutual influence and Rick Owens x Dr. Martens.
Two logos recur on products tied to Playboi Carti. On the Mitchell & Ness jerseys reworked by Playboi Carti, the “00” is a nod to Opium according to Complex, and “YVL” stands for Young Vamp Life, which Fanatics describes as a record label, a collective and a clothing company. Hypebeast (May 12, 2025) describes the first YVL cap, in 11 colorways. A jersey collection appeared at ComplexCon 2026 (Complex, October 6, 2026), after a first series sold from November 6, 2025 (Fanatics).
